Headquarters Air Force Space Command (HQ AFSPC) understands that the 7 Feb 05 failure and the resulting limited functionality of the NASA Orbital Information Group (OIG) web site are a major difficulty that is hampering the CFE Pilot Program's 90 day dual operations and transition period between the NASA OIG web site and the CFE Space-Track web site. Because of this the commander of AFSPC has approved an Interim CFE Data/Analysis Redistribution Approval Process. Until the final redistribution approval process is developed and approved HQ AFSPC/A3CS will approve redistribution requests that are made using the United States Strategic Command Form 1 (DOC, PDF)
As part of your redistribution request we ask that you answer the following questions and attach examples and/or references to web sites, newsletters, papers, etc. as needed to fully explain your redistribution request to us. It is important that you fully explain your redistribution request to us so that we may better understand your needs so that we may continue to evolve and improve the Space-Track web site. The answers to these questions will also help us develop the final redistribution approval process.
- Form 1, Block 8: Who are you going to redistribute the data/analysis to? Attach a list of names if possible/feasible.
- Form 1, Block 8: Why do you want/need to redistribute Space-Track data and/or analysis?
- Would your want/need to redistribute data and/or analysis be eliminated if the people you want to redistribute it to obtain their own Space-Track account or if the Space-Track web site provided the data in a different manner or format or provided additional data?
- Classify your redistribution. Is your redistribution for operational, commercial, scientific, educational, recreational, or some for some other use?
- Form 1, Block 9: What data/analysis do you wish to redistribute?
- Form 1, Block 10: When and how often to you wish to redistribute the data/analysis? Is this a one/few times request or do you wish to redistribute data on an ongoing and continual basis?
- Form 1, Block 11: Where is the data/analysis going to be redistributed to?
- Form 1, Block 11: How are you going to redistribute the data/analysis, in written/oral format or electronically via web sites, FTP sites, individual e-mails, and bulk e-mail distribution lists, etc?
- Form1, Block 14: For CFE redistribution requests, this block is NOT APPLICABLE and the certification box should be left unchecked.
To submit your CFE redistribution request e-mail your completed Form 1 to form1@vandenberg.af.mil. It is not necessary to sign the Form 1, since the Liaison will validate the request and forward it for processing. Help in filling out the USSTRATCOM Form 1 for CFE redistribution requests can be obtained from AFSPC/A3CS. Send requests for help to admin@space-track.org and they will be forwarded to AFSPC/A3CS. Requests will be processed as quickly as possible and AFSPC/A3CS or the Liaison will notify you of your requests’ approval or denial.
When the final Redistribution Approval Process is put in place the approved interim redistribution requests will be reviewed. Some approved interim redistribution requests may need to be resubmitted with additional information. We have no estimate at this time as to when the final redistribution approval process will be approved and put in place.
